Everything After

The rain hadn't let up since morning, and by the time the last bell rang, the courtyard had turned into a mirror of the sky above it.

No one said much on the walk back. There wasn't much left to say that the silence didn't already cover better.

Still, something in the air had changed, and everyone who'd been there could feel it, even if none of them could name it yet.
